FORTHCOMING DEBUT ALBUM – FROM THE NORTH COUNTRY

Queen Grace’s forthcoming debut album From The North Country is a collection of traditional folk songs and original compositions from, or about the province of Ulster in Ireland dating as far back as 1845 at the beginning of The Great Famine. Queen Grace has composed two original songs Josephine a soft and bittersweet ode to her late granny and Bernadette about the political turmoil that lead to Bloody Sunday in 1972 through the lens of MP Bernadette Devlin. “The album is deliberately raw and sparse allowing for the stories to breathe. Songs are unaccompanied or accompanied only by finger style guitar and drone box. The production of the album was inspired by the Bob Dylan The Witmark demos and early Joan Baez live recordings. It was partly recorded in my home studio in Greater Manchester before moving home to Ireland and finishing the recordings in a little Airbnb in Donegal.” – Queen Grace
