My Trinity Flower Knot organic cotton merch was in My Trinity Flower Knot organic cotton merch was inspired by my song ‘Josephine’, an ode to my late granny. She — and the song — inspired this slow, thoughtful collection.

The Celtic Trinity Knot, also called the Triquetra, is one of the oldest Celtic symbols. It holds many meanings, including the cycles of Life–Death–Rebirth and the Maiden–Mother–Crone of the triple goddess.

If you love Celtic heritage, Irish music, and sustainable living, this one’s for you.”

It’s a song about leaving behind everything familiar… the land, the people, the life that shaped you.

Thanks to all of you who watch my last reel. It re Thanks to all of you who watch my last reel. It received over 2k views! 😊 This means so much as it was my own song.

I was so moved by the @rteone documentary Amhráin na nGael that I was inspired for the first time in a few years to write.

The very next day I went back to @culturlanndoire and continued with my Irish course and also joined an Irish singing class! I didn’t have time last year due to renovating our home @theslowlifeireland
Now I’m officially back in the game! 💪

Have any of you been inspired by the documentary?

I watched the @rteone documentary with @imeldaofficial called Amhráin na nGael. It made me feel really sad that I haven’t kept up with my Irish and I am really struggling to learn songs as Gaeilge (in Irish). I wonder if you feel the same?

The Streets of Derry is a traditional Irish folk b The Streets of Derry is a traditional Irish folk ballad, catalogued in the Roud Folk Song Index as #896, Laws L11.

It was collected in 1952 by field recorders Peter Kennedy & Sean O’Boyle from Sarah Makem of Keady, County Armagh.

The story told in the song: a young man condemned to hang, and just as he’s facing execution, his lover arrives with a royal pardon (from the king), saving him.

The song’s origins are older than the 1950s; while the collected version is mid-20th century, it belongs to a long tradition of “last-minute rescue” / “gallows reprieve” ballads (similar in theme to The Maid Freed From the Gallows).

There’s something otherworldly about it… a “thin place” where the air itself feels charged with magic. ✨

I tried to capture the essence of these places in the sound of my album From The North Country — a collection of songs written in or inspired by the north of Ireland. Follow the link in my bio to listen. 👆🎶

Hi folks! 👋 Can you believe my single “The Pratie Hi folks! 👋

Can you believe my single “The Praties They Grow Small’ is almost two years old? 🎶 I chose not to press CDs or vinyl because of my environmental beliefs—plastic is harming our planet, and I wanted to do something better.

So, I created an organic cotton merch range featuring my single designs! This one is a Celtic cross with a dara knot in the middle, symbolizing strength, resilience, and my hometown Derry. I created it to commemorate the victims of an Ghorta Mór.

5% of profits go to the World Food Programme & 5% to Foyle Food Bank. 💚

Check out the full range via the link in my bio—there’s a T-shirt and hoodie too, perfect as an alternative gift for music lovers!

Myself and my long suffering husband @matthardyphotos took on a huge restoration project on a very old dilapidated cottage deep in the countryside of the North West of Ireland. Matt did most of the work himself. I stuck to labouring and making the tea! Now it’s time to get back to the musician life! 🎶 I have a few gigs coming up soon! You will definitely see a bit more of me on here. Looking forward to it! If you want to see how the cottage looks now go to @irishcottagerestoration on instagram

On a bitterly cold January morning in 1985, member On a bitterly cold January morning in 1985, members of the American Indian Movement attended the Bloody Sunday march, laying a wreath and singing in memory of those who had been killed by British soldiers in Derry over a decade earlier.

As AIM leader Clyde Bellecouret told the Irish Times, the AIM activists had “come to pay respects to people who had given their lives for peace, equality and liberty in their homeland, the aspirations for which American Indians were struggling in their homeland.”

As allies we need to continue to support the Palestinian people.

The First Nation Americans supported Irish people through the troubles in Northern Ireland and send money during the ‘famine’. Time to pay back.

We went up to the Beltany Stone circle in Raphoe. It has such a dark spiritual vibe about it! It’s almost Beltane. So it was nice to soak up the spring vibes.

Then we had a nosey at Raphoe castle built in 1600s. I feel lucky to have such history nearby!
