Description

I designed this Celtic Cross to commemorate the victims of The Great Famine c.1845-1852. The circle represents eternity with having no beginning and no end. In the centre of the cross is a Dara knot, the symbol comes from the Gaelic word Doire which means ‘Oak Tree’. The Dara knot is believed to represent the magnificent root system of the ancient oak tree. It represents strength and endurance.
